HOT & SEXY SHEER TRENDS
In summer fashion tends to get a little more revealing; we blame it on the heat, and one's desire to show off. 2009's sheer pieces are a mixture of the soft and feminine, to the opposite extremes of the hardcore sex-kitten.
Sheer fabric is back as one of hottest 2008 and 2009 fashion trends. Salvatore Ferragamo retains a sense of elegance the entire way.

Hot Trend: THE ONE-SHOULDER DRESS
Asymmetric one shoulder dresses are leading the way for occasion and evening wear styles. On 2009's catwalks the one-shouldered dress sees a futuristic revamp for the end of the decade. (Herver Leger, Balenciaga.)

Top Trend: DRAPING
The Goddess Draped Dress Fashion Trend, many of these draped and architectural styles lend themselves to satin, satin backed crepes, knit jersey or silk chiffons. Classical one-shoulder draping graced the runways of Elie Saab, Valentino and others, while Kenzo's dresses had more of a Romanesque tunic feel to them.

Major color: BLUE
Blue is an important color this year, and fused with aquamarine green or purple mauve it becomes like a vibrant psychedelic dream.

Must Have: RIPPED JEANS
Just when you thought they would never return... ripped jeans are back. Starting in 2008 with a horde of sexed-up editorial shoots and celebrity sightings, those torn denim shorts and shredded jeans are hitting the streets. Shredded, bleached, stonewashed Jeans are back! (Balmain)

Shoes Trend: FEATURE HEELS & REPTILE LEATHERS
The heel is no longer just a structural support of the shoe, it's a feature. Seen on: Christian Dior's carved tribal figures make for intriguing heel details. Alexander McQueen's heels get curly, Marc Jacobs' architectural, and Bottega Venetta's plaited in other prime examples.
Spring/Summer 2009 sees a range of reptile leathers new interpretations.
