Born in Baskinta, Razi has always been strongly tied to his roots, planting his continuous efforts in his beloved city and contributing to the people’s welfare.

Son of Sylvia and the late Dr. Wadih Al-Hajj from whom he inherited the urge to help and acquired the meaning of sacrifice, Razi vowed his life to humanitarian, medical and educational contributions.

Having been brought up in a war zone and changing schools, Razi had not resembled any of his peers and by then had taken his first step in creating change for his country.

As early as the age of 13, he was driven by the urge of involving his friends and young people around him into social concerns; so he founded his first political party, Chabab Al Nahda.

While the interest of his same age fellows was directed to fun time, Razi took the defense of youth’s right as his personal battle and channeled all his energy into all sort of developmental and social activities.

In 2006, he founded “Al Moustakilloun”, an independent youth political movement that actively participates in the civil and political society. A year later, in 2007, he was subsequently appointed as Minister of Economy and Trade and in 2008 as coordinator, in the Youth Shadow Government where he handled many projects in joint venture with the Ministry of Economy and Trade.

In 2009, his father, Doctor Wadih El-Hajj passed away after struggling 41 years in the humanitarian and national sector. Right then, Razi and his family raised “The Wadih El Hajj Foundation” in memory of the latest. An association that includes a clinic which provides highly qualified health care, an emergency center equipped with an ambulance, a medical insurance card “Al-Attaa” and annual awards which grant help and social donations as well as scholarships.

Razi also founded the Metn Planning and Growth center (MATN), which through projects, studies, conferences and seminars took the North Metn welfare, especially on the Development, Economic and Social scale, to a higher level.

In June 2010 he joined the Ministry of Economy and Trade as a consultant and economist.

The passion of serving his country drove him to found the R1 Invest Group in 2010, which is active in the fields of consulting and investment management.

• The principles that you will never change:
Honesty

• You can’t tolerate:
Inequality

• You can’t tolerate:
Bad intentions and negative people.

• A won challenge?
Starting the movement of change

• How would you promote the presence of women in the political life?
Women should struggle for their rights and take them. On the political scale, women should be more involved without being accessorized as they are to be considered for their true value rather than an added one.

• Your target in life?
Social justice

• What do you still hold from your father? Mother?
I owe my spontaneity and frankness to my mother and my humanitarian devotion to my dad.

• What cause will you always fight for:
The middle class society is the principle power which leads to industrial, social and economical renaissance; therefore rebuilding this class is the essential fight I need to lead. Creating job opportunities in order to stop the immigration of young people and providing a healthy and free environment are the first steps towards realizing our goal.

• One achievement you promise to realize: Considering that the Lebanese youth is in total divorce state with the government, a new law should be implemented allowing the students to interact with their government corporations through mandatory social services.
This will lead the new generation towards the concept of volunteering; moreover it will help them interact with their social rights.
