Born in Beirut on July 4th 1964, Elie Saab is the eldest son among two brothers and two sisters. His passion for dressmaking was naturally revealed at the young age of nine when he started making dresses for his sisters.
Very soon, this young boy’s talent became the talk of the neighborhood, as he was already acquiring a small network of clients.

Although his parents weren’t enthusiastic about the idea of a fashion designer, Saab was determined to follow his flair for fashion.
With the help of fifteen employees, he opened his initial workshop at the age of 18, gaining his reputation which ascended to reach every highness and celebrity.

Right from the beginning, he started to design evening gowns and wedding dresses; his creations reflected elegance under each and every facet, using noble materials, lace, detailed embroidery, pearls, crystals and silk threads.

Despite his growing success, Saab remained humble and cherishes his main values: respect to others and loyalty to his friends.

In 1990's, he took a bigger atelier in order to fulfill worldwide orders and in 1997 he was honored as the only non-Italian designer invited to “Camera Nazionale della Moda” to present his haute couture collections in Rome.
In 1998 he launched his first ready to wear collection in Milan.

Saab was invited in 2002 by the “Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture” to present his collection in Paris; his name hit all the records of fame when he became the first Middle Eastern designer to dress an Oscar winner, Halle Berry.

He introduced in 2005 his line of accessories; an array of shoes and handbags, and in 2011 he launched his first fragrance, Le Parfum - Eau de Parfum. Today, the perfume line expanded to include different fragrances and a new line “La Collection des Essences”.

Year after year, Saab’s name and creations, a unique fusion of western and eastern style, put him in a league of his own. He went global establishing boutiques in Paris, London, Geneva, Dubai and Hong Kong. His ready-to-wear collections are available in nearly 100 points of sales worldwide.
