Surrounded by an athletic father, President Emile Lahoud, a dynamic mother and two brothers, who both are swimming champions; Carine’s eagerness for sports has started since her early childhood.

Her passion for martial arts grew up with her since her “Garcon manqué” adolescence,
Yet it is only when her son Michel started his Taekwondo courses at the age of four, that she got initiated to this martial art in which she later on excelled.

Although she ventured in a masculine sport, and encouraged by a proud father, Carine confirmed her Taekwondo talents and stood out mastering power, technique and speed to the extent of perfection. In 2004 she deserved a bronze medal in the TKD Asian Championship and a silver medal in the TKD Paris Championship.

After graduating in 1992, Carine instantly got married. She then absolutely dedicated her life to her family and to raising her three kids. In 2002 she became member of the Lebanese Olympic executive committee for two years.

By this time, her Taekwondo skills where upgrading and she got elected as President of the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation for ten consecutive years (2003-2013) during which she helped raising up Lebanese TKD to an international level and brought radical positive changes.

•Your major project?
Lebanon and the Middle East region will witness a “Premiere”. This “first of its kind” huge sport event will be planned & organized by Threshold.

•What personality marked you in your life?
My father. He taught me to stick and abide by our principles in order to face a society where moral values are perishing.

•If you were to take a political responsibility, what would you begin with?
By having qualified people in the right places and by raising “Sports” to one of our country priorities since Lebanon’s future belongs to the young generation. Sport will help keep our young healthy and away from social, mental, and health abuse.

•How would you implement women’s role in sport?
As a member of the women’s committee at the LOC we are endorsing women & sports. We are throwing awareness campaigns in schools with the help of sports experts and champions.
